How We Can Help?

Keep your landscape lush and thriving with TruScape’s Plant & Tree Care services. We conduct regular health audits of your trees, shrubs, and ornamental plants, providing detailed reports and proactive care plans. If we spot early signs of pests, disease, or environmental stress, we address them promptly – from targeted treatments to recommending the replacement of struggling plants. Our clean and confident approach, grounded in deep horticultural expertise, ensures the greenery on your Northeast Dallas property always looks its best and stays healthy year-round.

Working Process

TruScape follows a thorough, step-by-step process to care for your plants and trees. We schedule seasonal walkthroughs of your property to inspect soil conditions, foliage color, new growth, and any signs of stress or damage on each plant. During each audit, we check for insects or fungus on leaves, evidence of diseases on trunks and branches, and even moisture levels in the soil around roots. Our experts document any concerning observations with notes and photos as needed, all guided by our internal Plant Health Assessment standards. After the inspection, we compile a clear, easy-to-understand report for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Our plant health audit is essentially a detailed wellness check for your landscape. During an audit, a manager walks your property and examines key aspects of each tree, shrub, and garden bed. We look at leaves (are they green and vigorous or showing spots/yellowing?), branches (any dead or diseased limbs?), and roots or trunk base (signs of pests, fungus, or rot). We might gently dig around a plant to check soil moisture and root condition. We also keep an eye out for specific issues common in the Dallas area – for example, bagworm activity on cedars, aphids or scale on crepe myrtles, or fungal spots on oak leaves. Each finding is noted. Essentially, the audit covers the plant’s overall appearance and vigor, pest/disease presence, soil condition, and even how the surrounding environment (like shade or irrigation coverage) might be affecting it. The goal is to get a 360° view of your landscape’s health. After the audit, we compile all this information into a straightforward report for you, highlighting anything that needs attention and confirming all the plants that are doing well.
We recommend at least a seasonal inspection of your trees and ornamental plants – typically four times a year (spring, summer, fall, and winter). Each season in North Texas brings different challenges: for instance, spring is a great time to catch any issues as plants leaf out, summer heat can stress plants and attract pests, fall is ideal for checking post-summer recovery and preparing for dormancy, and winter audits can catch structural issues when leaves are off the trees. In addition to these dedicated seasonal audits, our maintenance crews are trained to keep an eye on your landscape’s health during regular visits. That means if we spot something concerning in between audits (like sudden insect activity or a broken limb), we’ll note it and address it promptly. By having year-round vigilance, we ensure small problems don’t turn into big ones. However, at minimum, a thorough quarterly check-up will go a long way in maintaining the health and beauty of your plants and trees.
When we discover signs of pests or diseases, our approach is proactive and measured. First, we correctly identify the issue – whether it’s an insect infestation (like spider mites, aphids, or bagworms), a fungal disease (such as powdery mildew or root rot), or any other condition harming the plant. Once identified, we determine the best course of action. For many common issues, TruScape can provide treatment as part of our service. This might include applying a horticultural oil or a safe insecticide for pests, or a fungicide for diseases – always in accordance with Texas regulations and using eco-conscious practices. We may also recommend cultural remedies: for example, improving air flow by pruning, adjusting watering schedules to prevent fungus-friendly dampness, or adding nutrients to help a plant fight off problems. If the problem is advanced or requires specialized intervention (like a large tree with a serious disease), we will discuss options with you. In some cases, we might bring in or refer a certified arborist or tree specialist for significant tree health issues. Rest assured, we won’t leave you to figure it out alone. Our team will not only treat what we can but also explain what’s happening and how to prevent it in the future. Our goal is to restore your plant’s health in the least invasive, most effective way possible.
Yes – a core part of our Plant & Tree Care service is advising when a plant is beyond recovery and guiding you through a replacement. We understand it can be hard for a homeowner or property manager to decide to remove a beloved tree or a mature shrub, so we provide expert, honest assessments. If we’ve tried treatments and a plant still isn’t improving, or if a tree is dead/dying and becoming a safety risk, we will recommend removal and replacement rather than pouring more resources into a losing battle. When that time comes, TruScape can help make the process as smooth as possible. For smaller plants and ornamental trees, our crew can handle the removal of the old plant and install a new one. We’ll suggest replacements that fit the same space and look, but are healthier or better suited to the location – often favoring hardy native species or disease-resistant varieties that thrive in the Northeast Dallas climate. For very large tree removals or complex situations, we’ll coordinate with trusted arborist partners to ensure safe removal, and then we can take care of installing a new tree (or landscaping the area) afterwards. The bottom line: we won’t leave an empty gap in your landscape. We’ll replace the loss with something beautiful and appropriate, and continue caring for it moving forward.
